Where it is
The village is in the lowlands of Parma, just west of the city, between via Emilia and the Po river, in the area of Verdi's sites.
Why visit it
This important agricultural centre on the west side of the Stirone River boasts ancient origins and the nickname “Lady of the Lowlands”.
Don't miss
Particularly interesting in Soragna is the Rocca Meli Lupi, built in 1385 by marquises Bonifacio and Antonio Lupi, then transformed into a sumptuous residence for the princes still living in it nowadays.
Among the most interesting spots in Soragna, worth noting are the Synagogue, the annexed Jewish Museum, the Museum Giovannino Guareschi hosted in the bell tower of Diolo and the Museum of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese.

Soragna is in the Strada del Culatello, the area is infact famous for the production of PDO Culatello di Zibello, to taste with PDO Parmigiano Reggiano.
